About our social carers
In keeping with Safehands mission and philosophy of care in creating the best possible outcomes for service users, all new carers inducted into the company have been specially selected and screened by a dedicated Human Resource team experienced in all aspects of recruitment and selection. In order to meet the ongoing demands and standards expected of an ever-changing, high quality service, we are committed to employing skilled, quality staff. Safehands Care is also an umbrella group for the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and every carer has to undergo enhanced police, health, education and POVA checks.
With a strict recruitment process in operation, carers are interviewed in person and references are sought from previous and current employers. Only after all this has been completed can carers be offered with complete confidence in their suitability and character. Once selected, they have a full induction into the company and work to strict policies and procedures they are also given regular support, as well as structured formal supervision.
As an accredited Investor in People organisation, the majority of carers are qualified to NVQ level 2/3 in health and social care. Including participating and achieving up-to-date certificates for mandatory training programmes, carers are encouraged to undertake specialist training courses enabling them to develop and progress within the company, thus reaching their full potential.
